Hi! I have tested the engines with a Nvidia GTX 480 1.5GB
Based on 1000 samples and a HDRI Map

In Direct Lighting mode:
3DSmax min.01:27
Standalone 2.58e min.01:09
Standalone 3.02a min.01:10

In Path Tracing mode:
3DSmax min.03:05
Standalone 2.58e min.02:15
Standalone 3.02a min.02:28

In PMC mode:
3DSmax min.05:58
Standalone 2.58e min.03:27
Standalone 3.02a min.03:56

So.. Octane Render for 3DSmax is an outstanding piece of engine.. but mean more powerful card for operate inside the thirsty 3DSmax;)
But.. 3.02a.. is more slowly that 2.58 in pathtracing and PMC...
You have a nice day
Mich

And again. What are you trying to compare?

Different camera angle, different geometry, different materials. Everything is different. This comparison is useless!
