Octane for Maya uses its own engine, it only uses the license from the standalone.
As the Maya plugin is only beta 3.0 and not 3.01 it will not work with kepler. We will have to wait for beta 3.01 to be released to JimStar.
But even the 3.0 maya version is too buggy to use in production at present, though I'm sure a new one will be on the way soon.

Thanks T,
I thought that might be the case, I'm having real problems trying to find 580 cards.....
All I can think of is to send Jimstar a few dozen energy drink packs to do us all a kepler compile version...As long as he can iron out the strange 'normals effect' in the next few days I can work around the other bugs.

We are currently finalizing the next standalone release for Octane. When that is done, we will give the developers a new Octane SDK which will support Kepler, too. It's only a matter of days.

Cheers,
Marcus

Tested 3.02 using 580 3gb, 680 4gb and then both - all good, the 680 ( evga std w/backplate ) was only 8% slower on a 1gb scene with exterior and interior lighting, glass etc. thats pretty good.

Now - Could the Octane team please give Jimstar the SDK he needs to compile a kepler version for the Maya plugin?

Cheers,
JF.
