I´m working on a version for the Octane instance preview version.
Each Instance shape will export as a seperate mesh and will be hidden for the rest of the scene.
Each PointCloud will be export as csv matrix file.
A possible export to a test project will generate files like this:
test.obj
test.mtl
test_cylinder_instance.obj
test_cylinder_instance.mtl
test_cylinder_instance.csv
test_cube_instance.obj
test_cuber_instance.obj
test_cube_instance.csv
More soon...

Sweeeet!
Very good work Face!
Question. Is there anyway to get Octane render without selecting the geometry group? (Impossible to render out animation otherwise I guess?)
Looks super promising nevertheless

You need a group if you use more than 1 instance shape.
For only one instance shape, you can select the mesh direct.
Or you mean to render without select any instance shape and use the standard shapes(disc, rectangle, sphere, box...)?
You can´t render out an animation where a scatter is active with this Octane preview version.
The background is, that Octane selects, after the startup, the obj-node and not the geometry group node.
Another thing is, that Octane saves the scatter matrixes in the ocs-file and doesn´t reread the csv-file after a restart.

I don´t know, must first include the new instance routine with the old one and add a new option in the PPG.
Real instances would be cool, simple instances would work, but i have problems to get the right positions on deep nested instances...

Next try with instances, also ICE ones.
This video shows two new routines to render animations with instances.
The first one is hidden and update the matrixes in the ocs file on every frame.
It will work, if you select every frame the GeometryGroup node in my setup.
This is the background for the second implementation where you can specify the mesh which should rendered.
But take self a look...

The third new function is to select a render target.
