One thing i noticed is that when I export from C4D to Octane the 2nd time a new Instance of Octane is opened. (Mac OS)
Is this wanted? Because I'd expect something like to have some Feedback from C4D or from Octane if i want a new project
opened in Octane or have the new mesh imported to the actual scene.
Second is if I have the mesh exported to Octane, setup the camera and some material nodes...
If I do now some changes in C4D again I want to replace the former mesh in Octane, keeping the material nodes and other settings...
Is it possible to replace a mesh with a new one keeping all the node connections (leaving new material slots/node connections open)?
i can import the new mesh of course and do that manually but its a pain with a lot of materials.
.... ok, this replacement works if i save & quit & reopen the file in octane...
but a right click on the mesh which gives an "update/reload" option would be very nice

--> It would be nice to be able to export the mesh from C4D in the way that it updates the former mesh in Octane...
maybe Octane could have a pop up asking if I want to:
open a new scene with this mesh, add it to the actual scene, or replace the mesh with the same name with the new mesh.
or at least the possibility to update/reload the mesh from disk in Octane like described above
besides... I noticed those small quirks :
If I double click an Octane file in Finder (Mac OS) Octane opens but doesnt load the file.
and my Apple Magic Mouse (wireless) gets unresponsive and jumpy while rendering,
this is a bit strange because "top" in terminal shows that there is almost no cpu load...
maybe this ist some bug or strange side effect. this almost forces you to use a wired mouse while working with octane :-/
I m really looking forward to explore Octane an to be part of this community!
So this is not meant as bashing at all but as inputs / user experience report

Hm maybe some of this should be posted in a different thread?
Cheers,
IOR
