Is it possible to control a cubix xpander from an iMac? or is it necessary a pci card and so a Mac Pro to control it?
You need a PCIe slot or an ExpressCard34 slot. Unfortunately the iMacs do not offer anything on either fronts. This is one of the big downsides of these all-in-one type of systems. I've looked on a few of the PC type clones and it is the same situation. My opinion would be to buy a cheap PC with a PCIe slot and plug the cubix in from there.
System 1: EVGA gtx470 1280Mb and MSI gtx470 1280 in Cubix Xpander for Octane, AMD 945, 4Gb Ram
All systems are at stock speeds and settings.
