problems exporting only mesh

my experience is that the exporter works very well only if you export the mesh with the 'render image' button, otherwise (by export obj only) it would loose or mix several textures.

any hints?

It runs the very same code when it makes just the OBJ/MTL files.
When it renders it with Octane, it runs the very same code to make the files and then opens Octane using the OBJ/MTL that it's just made.
I fail to see how the two buttons produce different results ?
When Octane runs it just reads these files, it never affects them otherwise...

i will try some simple exports in both modes to checkout when & how it happen.
