Hi Kazanim, the exporter scripts are in the licensed customer area of the forum. You need to be a licensed customer to have access to those areas...

its a bit hard to predict what i can get out of octane with the (very nice) demo but without exporter plugin...
how the exporter works is cruical to the workflow and there is no information on this to find in the unregistered user area here
could some guys report their experiences with c4d + octane?
for example... do you still need to obj export? with c4d exporter (not usable) or riptide?
what do you do if you want to update an object in the scene? do you have to rematerialise all the scene?
it would be really nice to have more infos or even better get the exporter to work w the demo, too !
that would help a lot for a buying decision!
thanks for any replies here

hi benreality,
the exporter works very well, you don't need to worry about the obj mtl exportation, what is important are the materials applied to geometry.
after the exportation to octane you can adjust the ocs as you like. you could also make changes in to c4d and re-exporting only the geometry when octane is already open.
now, if you don't change the numbers or names of materials assigned, c4d and octane are sincronized and you can animate everything you want.
if you make some changes in the c4d materials, you must change the ocs accordingly.
the good news is that, after a long time without updates, the developement of the c4d exporter is restarted and we should have an update soon
