old scene file can't open
this is very very bad!

This hasn't affected me very much, since I have only worked on one scene so far, but it did mean that I had to spend extra time loading and setting up the scene again. Time that would be better spent on other things.
But I can forgive this issue as long as it doesn't become the norm. I would hate to think that every time a new version of Octane comes out that we would all have to reload and setup our scenes for them to work.

You have to remember that Octane is still in beta. So you cannot complain about that, in my point of view.
Sometimes new format means new feature. So the changing is good, while we are in beta.
My 2 cents.

I wasn't complaining. I was giving good advice.falcon76 wrote:You have to remember that Octane is still in beta. So you cannot complain about that, in my point of view.

Yeah, we are aware of that, the actual ocs file is intermediate and mainly used to keep settings during a project time and for animation. A much more reliable file format will be available later and will ensure a compatibililty between versions.GeoPappas wrote:I wasn't complaining.
