Hi,
replies follow, please use normal fonts in your next posts, these are quite intrusive...
1. We provide educational discounts, read about the requirements on our purchase page (you must be 21 years or younger too)
2. the current beta allows free access to v1.0 final and v1.1, 1.2, 1.3 etc. we will give a lower upgrade price to v2.0
3. a 3ds max plugin exists already, in the commercial version. (but it's brand new), it will be included in the next demo version. octane currently does not support area lights yet, only sun light/daylight and image environments. arealights/emitters are planned for the upcoming 2.3 version.
4. already with the 3ds max export script/plugin.
5. IES requires area lights so that must wait until area lights are implemented. but we will definately add it.
