is it possible to force shared memory for VRAM?

Just curious, if it's possible to "increase" the amount of ram for my graphics card by making some sort of shared memory for the videocard, like they do with some laptops?

Not using a laptop here, just have extra ram, and wonder if it's possible/useful for larger scenes that may require it, or if CUDA wouldn't use it.

not currently, the PCI-E bus is too slow...
