Hi all,

Some users have reported object materials loading as pure black on some materials.
Can someone please attach some reasonably small OBJ+MTL files here which exhibit the problem, as we cannot reproduce it with our testscenes ?

Thanks,
Radiance

Not sure if this helps but I've gotten black .OBJ's to when exporting from Houdini.

I solved this in Houdini by assigning correct normals to the object, the black objects had no normals assigned to them, essentially 0,0,0 on the vertex's.

One of the problems, if not unique, is with geometry that does not contain normals.
In the previous version the normals was generated correctly by octane, but now appears black.
Attached is a basic example, that imported with the previous version appears correctly and now appears black.

Cheers

Extremely strange.. on my machine it displays fine, just like previous version.

Are you using the default obj import settings and just starting octane, import mesh and display ?

Thanks

Yes, I open the program, add the object and give it to render, do not play anything else.
I use the linux version, may have something to do.
