I have three cards in my computer but only enough power cables for 2. I have another power supply that I am not using.
I it possible to just plug it in and connect it to the video card without it being connected to the MOB?
i.e. outside the case and using the cables to give the card the power it needs.
Many thanks
Peter

yes, but you must put a paperclip in the right place in order to make it start without the mobo connection. i found the procedure on the corsair site and it's quite easy to do
