Hey there guys i have 2 questions regarding what seems to be a very good rendering engine. The first one is will octane use all of the vram in an sli configuration? The second is does octane support out of core memory paging to system ram/are there any plans to do so in the future?
Thanks!
Thanks!
Hi,
If you have an SLI configuration you should switch off SLI in the Nvidia control panel. Octane will by itself upload all necessary data to the GPU's. Octane will still work with SLI enabled but it may have less memory available and work slowly if the scene takes a lot of memory.
Octane does not use out of core memory paging, and currently we are not looking to support it. The scene needs to fit in the VRAM of every GPU used for rendering.
