Hi there,
I recently purchased Octane Render, and it was my impression that if you purchase the standalone version you do not need to purchase a separate license to use the plugin for 3Ds Max. Is this incorrect?
I am able to open the Octane Render viewport in Max, but nothing appears, not even a black screen. No rendering is performed. I also have the option of activating the renderer via the OctaneLive tab, but am told that my OctaneLive username/password are invalid which makes me think that I need a separate set in order to use the plugin, since I am logging in with the OctaneLive username and password I was given for the standalone.
Additionally- in the standalone version- only my foliage appears to have any color- all other materials are rendered as dark gray. I am using an existing scene that contains standard materials from the 3Ds Max library.
I wanted to try Octane with this existing scene to test the speed and functionality without re-applying all textures. Is this possible?
In the future, how would I apply textures in Max to guarantee that they translate to Octane? I was unable to find a topic that answered this question or a tutorial video that addresses problems with materials.
I am using a 64-bit Dell Studio XPS, Windows 7, Autodesk 3Ds Max Design 2012 with a Nvidia 560Ti Gtx graphics card.
Thank you!
Using plugin and standalone with 3Ds Max Design 2012
