Hi people, i just bought the octane for 3ds max plugin, and i dont like it so far...

why cant i see the textures in the viewport ???????????? (i am using octane materials, UVW map, and the "show standard map in viewport" activated)
maybe i am missing something here, but i cant see the textures in the viewport and i need to calibrate the texture of the objects....

dont tell me that i have to move the UVW map gizmo "blindly" and each time update the geometry to see the results..........
if its like that i think its quicker to go back and forth to the standalone version to work the changes.

if somebody knows how i can fix this please help
thank you

Also is there a way of changing the type of the materials (example: from diffuse to glossy) without losing the map used like in the stand alone?
so there is not the need to search everytime again the texture in the browser?

What version of 3ds max do you use and what viewport engine?

Hi karba, thx for answering I'm using 3ds max 2011 design.
And I can't see maps in the standard max perspective viewport.

I am sorry, at this moment it is a bug.
You can try to use 2012 with nitrous viewport.

Karba Hi,

Id like to know if you have any idea when the new version is out that FIXES at least this issue with viewports? its very annoying having to use max12 especially in our case because of CAT issues, we are still using max11 64bit and of course does not have nitrous...

Nildo
Corei7, 6x GTX1070 (2 Inside and 4 in a CUBIX Xpander), 32GB Ram, Win10 64Bit Home, 3dsMax2017 64Bit, Octane for max 3 and LOVING IT!!!!

MSI GT72S 6QE Dominator Pro G win10Home, gtx 980m.

Well.... Thanks for the soon reply and support karba.
I just wish that the octane standalone had features like: UVA map editing
And basic object transform tools like moving, rotating, etc... :):)
Just a wish...
I like the feel of thestandalone better...
Have a good time
