Glossy material - smooth bool error

Hi guys.. i'm trying to render some toy cars but i have this problem with the glossines materials:

when enabling the smooth bool i get this weird black edges:

without the smooth enabled the edge is gone but the models loses it's details

can anyone help me pls?

Those black borders can show up if the normal vector of a surface ends up pointing away from the camera after the smoothing. This will often happen near the outline of an object in the image. There is no real solution for this problem other than making sure the object is modeled as enough triangles.

The place where this black border shows up in this image seems a bit weird though. Can you post a close-up of the wheel, and maybe a wireframe?

I actually prefer the unsmoothed version.

the normals are fine in the 3d model..

i thought it was a problem of scale but i've imported the obj according to it's scale

the non smoothed version won't help me cause the client notticed the diference and asked me to render him the first render

did you try to rebuild the normals already?

To me it looks like it is just reflecting the black background. I can see what I think are your lights reflected as the white parts amongst the black. So if your background is black (turned down the environment lighting) then maybe you need to add a background plane which can be reflected.

can you upload the scene - obj, ocs, mtl - (or only the part with the bad wheel) to check?
