Hei!

I am using octane for this institutional video and loving the tests that I am getting with it but this error may send me back to MR if I can't find a workaround.

I let max rendering a sequence and evertyhing goes as it should but when I get back a couple of hours I find stuck, sith the refining process totally stopped. But when I close and open max and try to render that same frame individually, it works normally.

Does that have to do with that timeout issue that is mentioned in the manual? The only thing is that I am using a few samples (2500) and each frame is getting aroun 7-8 minutes to render. Pretty fast and shouldn't be slow enough to do that...

I am running:

GTX 580
16mb Ram
Windows 7

Hi Gabriele! Thanks for the quick reply.

I've sent you a PM... did you get it? Just wondering cause the message are under my OUTBOX folder, instead of SENT folder... I am new here on the forum, so I thought that it would be nice to check it. :)

the message moves from the outbox to the sent box as soon as the recipient has opened it...
The obvious is that which is never seen until someone expresses it simply

Having a similar problem rendering animations. File cleans up in the view port in about 30 seconds. Try to render a sequence and it seems to stop refining in about 2 minutes, but the render takes 8 minutes per frame.

I've been decreasing samples to speed up animation renders.
Is there a more efficient way to cut down on rendered sequence times?

I am having a major technical problem with Octane. We have multiple computers with GPU's but for some reason they are not processing animation frames correctly. Running OctaneRender for 3ds max plugin inside of 3ds max Design 2012 x64 bit.

We have:
-1 system with (2) Tesla M2090's 6GB video memory each
-1 system with (8) GTX 580's 1.5GB video memory each
and
-1 system with (4) GTX 580's 1.5GB video memory each

The problem I am having is that when I try to run a range of frames inside of 3ds Max Design 2012 with the OctaneRender for 3ds Max plugin, it will render like 1 to 2 frames at the most and then do nothing. I did a test last night on two of the systems and ran them both for 7 hours over night. The systems do not seem to be using hardly any resources. I have tried this on all 3 machines with the different GPU's and get the same result. We have really optimized the scene for Octane and it is only loading 900mb onto each GPU into the video memory so I do not think that is the problem. Especially with the Tesla cards since they each have 6GB of video memory.

We need to render 15,000+ frames for this project and it is due in about two weeks from now!!! I really need to figure out why this is happening asap! Has anyone had the same issue and if so how did you fix it?

Your help is much appreciated!

Is there a setting for a noise limit as in VRay?
