Hello,
Octane use 100% of one of my quad core CPU even when the renderer is on pause. Also browsing the menus is very slow (even when not rendering).
Am I the only one to get this?
CPU: Intel Q6600 quad core
OS: windows7 64
GPU: Quadro 1700, nvidia driver 197.54
Octane use 100% of a cpu core

Hi,
that's normal, even when it's not rendering there is still the render thread running in a loop doing the tonemapping,
it's always rendering.
the use of once core is due to the way the cuda kernel is ran, we're working on improving it.
with a relatively slow GPU like your's the display will be laggy as the GPU is fully busy for rendering.
