I love this application. Thanks to the team for all their hard work in getting this far, and for the exceptional support.

Right, I'm pretty new here, so forgive me if some of these have already been suggested, or already logged for implementation (or already in the application but hidden from me!):-

wishlist for UI:
1. I guess the main thing for me would be the ability to drag any part of the node inspector (that can be created as an individual node in the graph editor) from the node inspector to the graph editor where it would become a new node with the settings intact. This would have many benefits, like speeding up the creation of a node network (and allowing you to export parts you'd like to reuse in other scenes - see point 3).
2. The ability to save many different named camera views and recall them from an editable dropdown list (ability to rearrange, render out all of the views in a particular order, delete views you no longer want). Essential if doing some photoshop tweaks afterwards and change is made requiring a rerender. (If exporting a node/s was possible this would be covered by importing named camera nodes)
3. Ability to share all nodes between scenes, preferably by exporting XML files that describe nodes (or collections of nodes) and then being able to import them again into another scene.
4. Ability to collapse a group of nodes into a single explorable node (like the preview configuration node).

BUG REPORT: Everything is working fine so far. I like the UI improvements made in 1.021 but I'm finding that switching to path tracing instantly causes the driver (197.13) to stop working and recover. Direct lighting works fine with no problems. (With v1.02 pathtracing seems to be much more stable.)

Thanks again for listening.

regarding the pathtracing crash, have you applied the registry fix here?

i've taken note of your other requests...

I have two simple UI requests commonly found in Window programs:

I would like to see "Open Recent" in the file menu, containing the last 5 files saved.

File > Exit asks if I want to save. But clicking the X in the upper right of the window closes the program without asking to save.

it may be that the scene i'm trying to render goes over 200mb. smaller scenes are more stable with path tracing. i've tried those registry settings but no luck so far. will run through them again to be sure. it seems my best bet might be to buy a second 260 to dedicate to rendering.

any chance of a slider to limit the number of cores or ram used by a gpu? would it help?

thanks radiance

EDIT: Ok. The registry setting does work but I find the UI freezes on and off while pathtracing. From reading other posts I guess this is normal while running one GPU.

GUI feature suggestion:-

* An icon that locks the mouse out of navigating in the 3d viewport. Meaning you don't have to worry about someone moving the mouse and restarting a render or changing the view (but it still allows zooming and panning the rendered image).

* Another shortcut key like CTRL but for 10x slower.

EDIT: * I may have missed this but a look at only option would also be good, so that the view direction changes but the camera position remains the same.

Question:
Will the Collada importer fully support animation (transforms/scaling/rotation), enveloped meshes and cameras? I'm wondering whether it would be worth making a script for exporting Softimage animated cameras (it would export a bat script with the camera positions/etc).
Is there an alternative way to rendering animated cameras other than using a bat file?

Thanks,
Jason.
