Circular lines in render with geforce 9800GT

Have you tried turning off "Smooth"? That's probably what causing that weird circular thingy.

After you have imported your OBJ file, click on the "Material Picker" which is located on top and it looks like a "Black ball with a dropper". Click on the object with circular issue and it will take you to its material properties on the right side of the Viewport. There you will find stuff like Diffuse, Transition, Bump....at the end there is Smooth with a pink dot on its left side. Uncheck Enable. I apologize if I made it sound too complicated.

Hi,

What does it look like when you apply a brand new completely standard diffuse material to the object?

My guesses without seeing that are: a) still something weird in the material perhaps due to the obj deffinition. b) some sort of face intereference c) something to do with normals or smoothing maybe

yeah, you're model is kilometers large,
export in meter units, or use the options in octane's obj import preferences panel to import with the right unit scale.
