Greetings.

We want to upgrade our studio workstations in order to run octane in all of them and use it as part of our main pipeline (where this is possible).

Unfortunatelly all of our workstations have intel s5000xvn motherboards with 1 x16 pci express and 2 x 4 pci express (x8 connectors) for sli use (we found adapters from x4 to 16x physical).

We are on the way for sli (470 or 580 or even 590) but we cant find a 1000W psu for our motherboards.

Can anyone help with links (ebay preffered but not crusial, just psu brands will do the trick!!!!)

This is the motherboard --> http://www.intel.com/products/workstati ... erview.htm

Thank you guys.

Edit

Dont get woow by the motherboards we are not rich we got financed by the state in order to build the studio back in 2008.

Edit we founf the solution please delete the thread if possible

thank you.

If i am not wrong, PSU do not depend on the motherboard.
For 2xgtx590 probably you need more power.

http://www.coolermaster-usa.com/categor ... ry_id=1710.

http://www.nvidia.co.in/object/product- ... 90-in.html

2xgtx590 at full load will consume 365x2 watts and if that is 1000w psu, it will left only 270watts which might not be enough.

Thank you very much my friend.

We found out after talking to Intel support servise live, that indeed motherboard has nothing to do with the psu
but the intel server chassis unfortunately has, it only takes a certain intel psu 670 w or a 830w certain brand and watts orelse the chassic will do boom     .

So we will do a little trick, we bought a converter called add2psu and this will allow us to add more psu on the fly that will autostart when the main server psu will.

We will use the additional psu in order to feed up only the gpus with out letting its volts and ambers interfier in any way with the motherboard or the intel chassis!!!!!
