Things I tested out for 3dsmax v1.0 beta v2.56:
1. Convert Vray Material - not working for texture maps, neither with standard or Vray format of textures, maybe work for vray procedural maps, but didn't try out yet
2. Texture map in material not show up in small or large preview, even with Octane's version
3. No way to access Octane Live DB
4. Octane sun without parametric input like geographic location, date or time
5. Octane camera cannot be rigged with Autodesk nagivation wheel
6. No way to export .ocs or .mtl (wish: at least still scene if not animation scenario)
7. No way to import .ocs or .mtl (wish: .mtl should come first handily judging from the above findings)
I'm using Max2011 32bit, WinXP 32bit, 1xGT430 2GB + 1xGTX580 3GB
Other findings:
8. Octane preview not show up if I didn't assign winXP desktop extended to the card assigned for gpu-rendering (in my case GTX580), and I used 1 monitor only
9. System usually hung (4 out of 5 times) if I quit 3dsmax via taskmgr, and changed multiple desktop settings afterwards

Looking forward Octane Dev Team keep good work in fullfilling the above quoted statement.
Now RS broke the barrier of 3dsmax user for animation workflow, but for still scene production currently the plugin version lags behind standalone.
