It's taken me a couple of days to get a render that I'd show anyone, but here's the first 'project' that I've set up and tweaked to completion.
I did heavy post-processing to remove all the fireflies (I am very much looking forward to the upcoming MLT that is better than MLT)
Models are from Daz3d. I didn't want to spend a lot of time on the scene building part so I could focus on the intricacies of getting things rendered in Octane, but I wanted a variety of complex materials and challenging lighting.
As is normal for me, the scene has tons more detail than is visible in this render. I did thinks like tweak the model for skin-to-skin and skin-to-floor contact, none of which is visible of course! But it was important to me since Octane let me explore the scene interactively, change the lighting and just generally find the best way of looking at what I'd set up. Despite the pathtracing hot pixels, I'm very satisfied.
The original image was rendered at 2048x1024. I let it run while I went out for dinner and a beach walk, so something like 3 hours.
