Plugin makes Octane to work no more

I get a big problem with the use of your plugin.
I start my computer and run octane. I open a file (ocs) of mine, and all is ok. Now I use the plugin from sketchup to create a new Project. I export from the plugin, evrything seems OK...but nothing appears. Since that moment When I try to reopen my first file project nothing shows no more! I can try to open any of my previous project files but nothing appears in Octane. It seems the only way to go out of this, is to restart my computer!!!
Weird and very problematic!
Questions:
1 - Someone gets the same kind of problem?
2 - How can I restart my GPU without restarting the computer?

I am on WinXP 32 Octane 2.52. GPU Quadro fx580
last sketchup plugin. Last Nvidia drivers

Please give us the full project path.
The name is always 'standardized' BUT if it contains 'non-standard' characters [like Unicode accented letters] anywhere in it, then it can/will break Ruby/SUp... SO always use standard ASCII A-Za-a0-9_-etc only - and never é or ö !!!

The Project folder [possibly] contains some files, can you list these...
Does it make obj/mtl/cmd/ocs etc in there or does it fail before then...
What version of Octane are you using? Can you specify an earlier version in the Project and get it to work ??
If it's made an OCS file can you open it by hand?
How big is the SKP?
How big is the OBJ file ??
What does the CMD file say, when edited with Notepad ?

This is not a common issue... without more detailed reporting we can't assist much, thus far...

Yes it seams to be a problem with unappropriate characters. I renamed all the materials that get those caracters (< , -, > etc...) reexported and now it works.
Most strange things was that it doesnt only affected the exported file...it also bugged Octane (and the GPU?) as I explained you.
When I get in that situation How can I restart octane, GPU without restarting my computer?
I keep on testing with the same file and get you informed.

I forgoten to say I also changed the project path:
first it was on my local drive: z:\affaires\pierre_jean\esquisse_1
now on my usb hard drive: g:\affaires\pierre jean\esquisse_1
This morning I went again to my local drive and it doesnt work again. Since then Octane (GPU?) is bugged and no file open now... (even those that were working nicely). INFO: obj file is created, as for cmd. Octane does open and the model is loaded. Everything seems nice but nothing appears. When I try to move view it says: Quadro fx580 failed.

Materials etc should have their 'illegal' characters stripped by the Exporter anyway.
The usual issue is having accented characters in file paths - like
z:\affaires\pierre_jean\schémas\esquisse_1
where the 'é' would trip up Ruby/Sketchup... so
z:\affaires\pierre_jean\schemas\esquisse_1
is needed.

I think you might have an issue with your GPU itself.
Particularly since it seems to be intermittent.
Have you tried updating its drivers, or running a 'health-check' on your system ?

Yes problem is intermittent
GPU is perhaps the problem but run dxdiag and no problem appears. Driver is the last one. And out of Octane I do not experience any problem with GPU...Strange!

According to nvidia this card normally comes with 512 MB of RAM. If yours has indeed 512 MB, then the problem is probably that Google Sketchup uses some of the memory, leaving insufficient memory for Octane to render anything.

If it is indeed a lack of available GPU memory, try starting the Export > OCS's Render; flip windows, close the exporter-dialog and close Sketchup, so the only thing using any RAM is Octane, does Octane perk up ?
What happens if you have nothing else running and you reopen the OCS manually ?
Is it perkier then ??
