Pleeease if you're going to stick with cuda lobby the cuda developers to increase this ridiculous 64 map limit!! It's insanely small! 256 should be the bare minimum!

Please add a sensible error messages like how many textures were loaded for each category, and how many one is over the limit. I'm going to run into this problem all the time and I suspect many, many others. This may alleviate the issue to a degree in the sense that's it's easier to manage, right now it's a nightmare trying to figure out what to delete.

Object motion blur... absolutely essential for animation!

I think the limit is 64 RGB, 32 grayscale and some HDRI. Anyway it's too low - especially the grayscale limit, as those textures are more useful then RGB because they save you a lot of RAM.

I think it would be great to have a Front/Back material switch, so we can use different materials on the front and back of a polygon.
(Books, tree leaves, other thin objects would benefit from this feature)

It would be great to have an object not cast a shadow.

I know these features are not typical of an unbiased renderer, but the truth is, that octane renders polygon faces, etc... even with a physically correct algorithm, you are still using a biased renderer, because you are not simulating atoms, molecules, nor the quantum electrodynamic behavior of light transport and diffraction, nor using a real lens camera... so in fact the rendering is always biased.

It would be great if list of render passes was much wider. Like color, reflection, refraction, specular and etc. And it would be great if we can render objects by layers. It very helpful for post-production.

I think this has been requested before but hdri plus sun. Please I think this is more important than anything right now, instancing can wait as far as I'm concerned. Octane is really fast but if I need to render an outdoor scene twice, one for hdri and one for shadows then still adjust both images in pp, I'm not sure if we are saving a lot of time in the end.

Hi,

Node editor> would be great to have zoom function with mouse wheel / like in Blender, or any other node-based editor, instead of scrolling around.

Well, ask 10 users and you'll probably come up with 9 different features which are "more important than anything". We just can't do everything at once.

Hi Roeland

I'm sure you have a lot on your plate, this was just a suggestion but in the end as far as workflow is concerned a lot of people will benefit from it. But of course in the end, you and the octane team will do what you think is best for the program. :)

I am fairly new to OctaneRender, but have you Hypershot in the past. It was very convenient to be able to save off the render as a high quality image in Hypershot. It would be nice to be able to save the image directly off as a .TIFF or a high quality JPEG. instead of a .png.

Thanks

Who is "we" ? You? The one? Karba develops for Max. Non max users don't care about it.
I was excited about Octane when i bought it, quality, speed, development, perspective ...
Then development was slower and slower and I tried Cycles, only as curiosity. As time went on, I notice Cycles get better and better, while Octane kept its stagnation.
This time I am in 99% in Cycles and hoping that anything happen about Octane.
