Congratulations Octane team with this stunning release!

I've tried the Octane 1.5 demo and was very impressed with the speed. I'm interested in buying Octane 2.0, but I've read some contradicting reports by users of slower rendering performance (less samples/second) but at the same time faster clean up of noise in renders. Does this mean that the sampling of the integrator kernels has been improved compared to 1.5?

Hi, make sure that you are purchasing an UPGRADE, not a new license. An upgrade is EUR99. A new license is EUR299.

To purchase an upgrade from 1.x to , you can either -

1. On the OctaneRender website home page, click on the 'Upgrade Now' button on the splash screen overlay (blue truck showing motion blur). This will take you to your account login, and once you have logged in you will be able to proceed with the upgrade selection and purchase. Or,

2. Go to the OctaneRender shop page and click on the red 'Upgrade from 1.x' button located on the right hand side of the Shop page. Again, this will take you to your account log in, and once you have logged in you will be able to proceed with the upgrade selection and purchase.

Kind regards, Win

@Kavorka :
I did it by using a guest account. No need to use an actual account.
This feature is not available from France. Anyway, people seem to have many problems with this option too, and more difficulties to solve them as they need to create an account to solve the problems ! After many years of troubles with Paypal, I can't trust them anyway.

I read few minutes ago this info:
http://render.otoy.com/forum/viewtopic. ... 50#p188568
Well, if speed is going down up to 50% (???), than is no sens for me to get upgrade:(
I'm using Octane and Corona. Now my choice is Corona. Sorry guys, but my hope was demolished and every new release of Octane is going down with speed. For me it mean this:
- in erarlier versions of Octane my GTX580 3GB was enough for me for fast rendering, but now with 2.0 release i have more features but i have to buy NEXT GPU (???) if i want get the same speed like in previous versions (1.55). Well upgrade is no 99 EU but 399 EU because i have to buy next GPU to take the same speed. Sorry Octane - bye bye:(

There MAY be a 15% speed it. All my test scenes render at the same speed in 2.0 relative to 1 5 - they converge faster even if mp/s is less. Try for yourself.

I understand you soooo well.
Others are shooting out real improvements regularly (Corona,Vray) while Octane is getting more and more clumsy
Recently i have been working on an interior project and even with 3x GTX 580 I had my problems getting rid of the all the noise.
Then i discovered Corona! Corona did the same job in less time on 1 CPU !
Also went back to VRay remorsefully.
So I thought with Octane2 I would give it another try. I was going to invest another 3,5k in additional GPU-Power.
This is not going to happen very soon... Ciao for now

P.S.: And there is still no proper F***ING manual !!!!!!!!!
