still on the network renering for XB3
I found when using PMC engine, from the slave side it doesn't work right, see the image below:
it is jumping from 0 to 100percent all the time, and even worsely the slave may be killing by force again and again (so brutal the word used...)
though at the same time from the master side it is still OK
This situation only happens with PMC, when using path tracing kernel it is all right.

for instance, to install only slave we still have to have the standalone installed, as mentioned previously the install batch file are only in the standalone but refer to another file in the slave folder, mojave wrote:The slave has its own installer now. Many users do install either standalone or slaves on any given machine anyway so this allows you to install just what you need.p3taotoy wrote:What am I missing... for a while after installing the later versions of the standalone....
You would get a folder with the slave install, run and uninsatall etc.
How do you run/install the 2020.1 XB3 slave?
Thanks
so whatever it cannot work if you install the slave only,
I think this is something to be fixed for better user experience...

Thanks for the bug report. This is now fixed and included in the next release.funk wrote:BUG: Displacement autobump seems to break on scaled items
1. Load the orbx and select the rendertarget to start rendering
2. Select the DISP_MAT nodegraph and toggle displacement > autobump off/on to see the difference

Running a Mac OSX Version of XB3
Running the slave XB3 version
The Mac sees the slave and says its updating but does not use the slaves even if I keep the rendering going a long time etc.
Any way to trouble shoot this?
Thanks

Is there a way to get motion blur with scattered objects?
We have moving object all scattered with the scatter node. For each frame we wrote out a matrix but when we render it, we do not get motion blur.
Any work arounds?

Instances on geometry can't have motion blur, but if they are instanced on particles they can have motion blur. <- sorry, this is true for Lightwave users only
