The problem is that the F-stop really isn't an Aperture slider. It let more light on the scene ma the DOF doesn't change. Aperture on the other side, isn't on the tone-mapping as F-stop and changing that value make the render restart 'cause the DOF changes. So, on the tonemapping i think that Fstop it's not really useful 'cause lowering it's value should change also the bokeh effect and not only let more light in. I don't think it's a solvable issue, it would need a Fstop slider on the tone mapping that would blur the image accordingly to the DOF of the lens at that specific aperture on a still image without restarting the render.Refracty wrote: Another important thing what I have said in an earlier post is that I don't think it is a good idea to put the iso, fstop, exposure into a node outside the camera. Maybe, going back to the Camera analogy.We just need more lens nodes with pre-sets.We currently have a thin lens node.New nodes would be used in the scenes just as you swap lens's in real life.They would give pre-set effects like fish eye with different bokah effects, different tone mapping etc. Then use various cameras in your scene with different lens's for artistic shots.Maybe have a downloadable lens list on the Octane live DB.Ayertosco wrote:The problem is that the F-stop really isn't an Aperture slider. Anyway just a few ideas churning around in my head.Not sure how do-able this all is.
