The idea for toon shader.
Maybe it is possible to add noise effect to blend specular and diffuse? And to have an opportunity to change the size of noise.
Something like this effect:

What graphics card are you using?Studio21 wrote:Thx for the update and new features guys.
However 3.08 is somewhat slower then 3.07 (tested with the same scenes, no new 3.08 features involved)
is this going to be fixed?
thx, and keep up the good work
Guy
3.08's OSL update affected the entirety of the texture system, so even if your scene does not involve OSL textures specifically, any other textures like bump map/normal map/noise functions/mix textures etc...have been switched to OSL backend, so all of them could be affected.
And more specifically, how much slow down are you experiencing?
Thanks,
Wallace
How's the GLTF progress coming along? Very exciting stuff, so interested to hear what possibilities and challenges are facing the development right now!
Or, let me translate that -

I'm quite familiar with glTF (and excited about it). But I don't see how it's that meaningful unless the mother application supports it. What am I missing?Notiusweb wrote:How's the GLTF progress coming along? Very exciting stuff, so interested to hear what possibilities and challenges are facing the development right now!![]()

Thinking you don't need a mother application...straight to standalone!Iceman9 wrote:I'm quite familiar with glTF (and excited about it). glTF only with standalone? I suppose perhaps. To me I want to be able to create geo and materials in a familiar and convenient environment and then run through an exporter. I'd love a c4d upgrade or plugin that permits one to create animations and interactions that export out to glTF.
I still don't quite even understand how Octane would factor into glTF. The idea with glTF is that the browser would do the rendering and that reduces rendering to a universal common denominator.
Since this is very off-topic for this thread...I'll refrain on any further comments.
