Hi Juanjo,
I seem to have a similar problem installing the plugin with LW11.6.x64
I see that the finger has been pointed at the Visual C++ SP1 x64 redistributable....whatever that is...As for uninstalling it etc, I'm really out of my depth here. Please can you hold my hand with this? :)

First try to install the plugin after install the VC++ 2010 SP1 x64 redistributable package:
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download ... x?id=13523

If you can't install the plugin after install the VC++ 2010 SP1 redistributable package, try this:
- Uninstall your Visual C++ SP1 x64 redistributable
- Download the attached .rar file
- Put the two .dll files available inside this .rar file inside your Lightwave(x64)/bin directory (this files are the libs needed by the plugin to load)
- Try to add the plugin again (of course the x64 plugin, and be sure that you have also the Octane.dll and Octane.dat x64 files in your Lightwave(x64)/bin directory)

Hi Juanjo,
OK, uninstalled then reinstalled your Visual C++ SP1 x64 redistributable. Placed the other 3 files as requested but plugin still not accepted. Screen shots attached.

This is because you are mixing an old Octane.dll and Octane.dat files with current 1.20 plugin release.

Please be sure that the Octane.dll and Octane.dat files that you have in your Lightwave/bin folder are the files included in the last plugin 1.20 .rar file.

Octane.dll, Octane.dat and the plugin itself have to came from the same .rar file.

In a previous post I can see that you have a LWOctane.p file from May ... are you sure that you are using the last LWOctane.p?

Please download again the install .rar files:
http://render.otoy.com/customerdownload ... .1_x64.zip (for LW 11.5 x64)
http://render.otoy.com/customerdownload ... .2_x64.zip (for LW 11.6 x64)

And replace all your files (Octane.dll and Octane.dat in your Lightwave/bin folder, and the LWOctane.p plugin in your plugins folder) with the files inside the .rar file.

Hi, I take this old topic because I have the same problem in windows10 and Lightave3D 2015

In windows 7 i have copied 3 file .dll in the lightwave 3d bin folder

msvcp110.dll
msvcr100.dll
vcomp100.dll

and i have installed the microsoft visual c++ redistributable x64 2013
In windows 7 all go well

Now I have installed windows10 (clean installation, not updated) but the same method does not work, i tried to install microsoft visual c++ redistributable x64 2015, but the problem remains

The other programs work well and are very fast

I use the octane stand alone 2.24.2 and octane for lightwave 2.24.2

Thanks for any advice

You need to install the visual c++ redistributable x64 2012, not the 2013 ... is this the redistributable that you have installed in your system?
