Hi. I have added the first release of the plugin for ArchiCAD to the links at the top of this thread. There were many changes required, so pls exercise caution when using it (ie. suggest using on test scenes and not time-critical projects). Keep backups of files prior to saving with this first release.

Hi Paul,

Just a little thing... when changing the kernel from one to another can the previous settings be remembered?
ie I want to render a bunch of cameras with two different kernels without making seperate rendertargets and just change between Dl and infochaneel-Material ID.
But everytime it starts with wireframe and when remembering it would start with Material ID.
Simple solution I do now is make one extra rendertarget with Material ID and change back to to wanted camera,
but this does not work when having differenrt rendersetting for different cameras.

greetings, Jeroen

Hi Jeroen - using the current codebase, "remembering" fields which are not part of a particular kernel type is not easy, and would be a big change.

However there are other changes to the plugin about to happen which may obviate the need for your requirement.

Not really needed, just noticed I was doing the same commands all over again.. I solved it by making one saved rendertarget with kergnel MAterial ID and just switch to cameras (works when cameras need same rendersettings)

Exciting... ;)

Another thing:
When a viewmap camera has a saved rendertarget the rendertarget has the same name.
When I change the name of the view, the rendertarget is lost and I have to save the rendertarget to view again.
Is it possible that the rendertarget name automatically changes and stays connected with the view when the name is changed?
Maybe it is not possible, but I might also overlook downside if possible?

Hi Paul, Jeroen,

I could install it (AC18) without any problems.
Works also OK, no real problems - but unfortunately I wasn't able to spent much time with it.

My virus scanners seemed to be picking up false positives and excluded Octane.dll from being installed.
I could install the plugin by excluding Archicad folder for virusscanning.

Hi,

I did not use the Archicad plugin with caution and I used it for project with short deadline :o

I took this guess, beause my client provided me the Archicad 18 file to start with and it was not a good option to translate it to a Archicad 17 file, because a lot of stuff was specific Archicad 18 (like windows) and then I had to transform everything to morphs and I would not be flexible anymore in changing and exchange information with the client.

Anyway... just wanted to let know that everything works fine so far...I am very happy with the new 18-plugin. Thanx Paul :!: Great job again.

remark: I am having some 'old' Archicad crashes, but that's not a new plugin 18 issue, but an old issue;
Archicad crashes sometimes when editing a complex wall; I am trying to figure out if this is an Archicad crash, or only combined with plugin open.
Does someone else having this crash as well?

Below is a test build (AC17 only at this point) with a range of small new features for people to try out. If there are no issues identified in the next 48hrs, I will do AC16 and 18 builds. This will be the final build before the Octane 2.10 release of the plugin.

2.6.0.14
- Added check when opening the LiveDb dialog to ensure the plugin is on-line and can therefore connect to the Otoy LiveDb server
- Added configuration option to change the storage location for downloaded LiveDb texturemaps
- If an Octane material references a texturemap, and it does not exist in the specified folder, the plugin will search for it in the LiveDb folder (specified in the configuration). If it is still not found, an error will be displayed.
- Added "Cancel" popup and button when generating scatter transforms
- Fixed issue where float value sliders were not appearing in the Node Parameters box
- ArchiCAD proxy host object rotation is now applied to the Octane proxy OBJ rotation

Hi - I have temporarily removed the above link, due to a problem where the LiveDb folder checking was causing a problem with non-LiveDb texturemaps. I should have a revised version in the next 12hrs.
