just reporting my experiences… i m doing a project with 1.00 right now :
if my gpu is disabled (mac pro, gtx 580 powered by external psu) and i open my file with c4d…
and i start doing things like deleting a duplicate material by alt dragging it onto its copy… c4d starts spinning until i have to kill it.
these functions seem to need the gpu which isnt there… but there is no check for that, so c4d spins forever.
and by the way.. i get material duplicates if i copy something into an empty file and back…
i do that often to edit a detail in a clean file without all the clutter and just copy it back.
material duplicates are a problem in other renders too,
its not a super priority but maybe u can have a look at that some time...
also i have some strange behaviour in the material previews…
simple diffuse material, checker in diffuse, setting scale to 25,1,1 … no change in preview.
ahmm…. sorry… more and more….
i have a texture tag with cubic projection, and i rotate the tag in its H/B/P values to change the direction…
nothing happens, seems like NONE of the tags settings are used… scale / rotation / projections
this was using a the checker material above. with a imagetexture it works. (???)
another minor thing… there is no preview in the imagetexture shader…
there is this square right in top which you can set to "huge" display, it just stays black
hmm… and… is it not possible to have the camera tag's settings in the live viewer?
if not i always have to change iso etc for the live viewer if i have different cameras with different tag settings
