OctaneRender for Carrara 3.08.03.42[Stable and Test]
I have added a number of new features to support this. Under Octane Environment I have added two new sliders. Global Emitter Scale and Carrara Emitter Scale.PhilW wrote:Sighman - Happy New Year! Not an issue, but a request. I have been working recently with surfaces which have a texture map in the glow/emission component. I need to set these up with Carrara's shaders but would ideally like them to render in Octane Render too without having to adjust them all each time I render - there are a lot! The default conversion from having a texture in Carrara's glow channel into Octane's Emission channel seems to give a very low value for the emission, of 0.03, which is almost equivalent to having no emission at all.
Would it be possible to have a look at this and change the default translation from Carara shader's glow to Octane Material's Emission to something that looks broadly equivalent? Also if there is a multiplier on the Carrara side, so Multiplying a texture map by say 250%, could you use this to adjust the strength of the Emission automatically in Octane?
I hope this will be an easy task and something that you can build into the next major update. No worries if not, I can do things manually, but having a good automatic translation would be a real time saver (and hopefully useful for other Octane for Carrara users as well!).
Global Emitter Scale affects all Octane mesh emitters.
Carrara Emitter Scale only affects emitters that are auto created from a shader's Glow channel.
I have also added a new Octane Multiplier shader that you can add to a Glow Channel (or any other Channel). The Octane Multiplier has two inputs (Input and Scale). The Input input takes a Carrara shader, while the Scale input takes an Octane Texture shader. For a Carrara native render, the Scale input is ignored. For an Octane render the Input is multiplied by the Scale. This way you can adjust the Emitter power of the Octane render without affecting the Carrara native render.

Hello Simon!
The Tasks feature works really fine. Pushbullet is useless on iPhones this moment, so I'm working on a possibility to send emails.
I just try to find out where the initial scene (that one, that appears when "New" is used) is stored to keep the contents of "Executables" and "Arguments".
