And what about the missing buttons from the IPR window in MPlay - is setFocus/Reset and so on not possible ?
Where I can find the download for the LiveDB.zip and Texture.zip? In other plugin the links are in manual
and worked perfect for install and local use.

True, the IPR picking functions are not available in MPlay yet. I will try to find a workaround for this limitation.
The Houdini plugin has a tool to use the LiveDB feature in the shelf, but I'm afraid that it has a problem in OSX that we are investigating. In my OSX plugins, the Octane native LiveDB window hangs as soon as it is opened and I am not sure why yet. Anyway try to use it in your system and let me know if you have also this problem.
I will work updating the manuals to Octane 3 along the next weeks.

Same here - after click LiveDB the rolling OS X ball is forever and I have to kill Houdini by OS X.
But I am really happy with the LiveDB complete download and install for the other plugin and
if there is any chance to do this in Houdini plugin too - please do it. In that way you are able
to scroll really quick through your materials as presets and don´t have to download several times
for each material what breaks your workflow again and again.
face_off made a really good job to this and maybe you can talk to him about this feature.
But I am really happy with the LiveDB complete download and install for the other plugin and

After some tests now - important would be to have this also in the top of MPlay:

like the other plugins have - I only can see some render time if I render to disk
with MPlay at the bottom. But this disappear if render is finished and so I don´t
know what was the render time. And the text in the bottom is way to small - no
changes if I set text size bigger.
So please put it in the top so I know how long will be a render and at what time
is the progress.

And if I change the cam settings in tab sampling to get something out of focus nothing happens.
So the AF button for MPlay and cam focus settings are very important so I can have the nice out
of focus blur like in the other plugins.

Now I figured out some things ...
I have to deselect AF in the octane TLcam setting - then I am able to set cam F-Stop and so. But
the usage is confusing because of the MPlay refresh bug. Changes in the TLcam are live updated.
Changes in the cam sampling tab are not live and so I have every time to close and reopen MPlay.
The good thing - cam handles in the viewport for orientation and distance are live, but sadly not
the f-stop handles. If there is any way to make the f-stop handles live - PLEASE do it so we don´t
have to click the IPR button again and again (if the MPlay bug is removed).
Do all the cam settings with handles live is the thing that would be make the plugin awesome.

Does the plugin not be able to use octane material creation for OS X?
Followed the BW video and did the following:
- create a sphere
- create a oc network node (vopnet1)
- drop the node onto the sphere for assign the material
- jump into the vopnet node
- create a glossy node and connect to mat out
- change the color in the glossy node
- hit IPR button
- still no changed color - only the pink color is shown
If I create a standard glossy material node instead the vopnet then I can change the color (material).
Do I something wrong or is it another bug of MPlay? In this way I would not be able to create a single
oc material inside houdini.
I saw in the BW video that he is changing the color inside the vopnet, but the object in the viewport
is still white. So is this normal to all oc vopnet materials - can we only see them in the IPR?

Sometimes the drag an drop vopnet nodes over the objects in the viewport doesn't work. This is known limitation of the Houdini HDK that I am not sure to fix, and that I've seen also in other render plugins.
Please, check that you have the material to be used set in the object node Material tab.

Are displacements in Houdini possible?
If I plug a texture in displacement node the object disappear - if I plug it in diffuse it works.
In other plugin displacement works with same texture without problem. But in other
plugin also not possible to plug a texture generator node into displacement node - no effect.

Displacement is only possible in objects with a valid UV map, the projection nodes can't be used with the displacement feature. You need to add an UV map to the object using the Houdini UV map tools to render the displacement maps.
