Out of interest, were you able to re-produce the lag issue with the scene I provided?face_off wrote:Can you provide a sample scene which demonstrates this issue pls.Can we please add the issue, reported by myself and vortex3d on multiple occasions, where high object count scenes results in massive lag in Daz when you attempt to move an object?
Thanks

I have not tried yet - sorry. Been focus'ed on fixing some of the internal issues first. Can you also retest your scene with 2.24.2.2? I did remove one potential source of lag....so you never know...Out of interest, were you able to re-produce the lag issue with the scene I provided?
Also - how big (filesize) is the HDR you are using in that scene pls?
EDIT: I just gave it a quick try. Loaded the scene, opened the viewport, enabled LIVE, and could move the sphere without and lag.

No lag when bending the arm then the cube parented to it either?
Ok, I'll install 2.24.2.2 and test.

Ok, I have the same issue in 2.24.2.2. However, I've now noticed that disabling automatic geometry updates doesn't work for me at all. Either by unticking the Automatic Geometry Updates box under general settings, or deactivating the "Live' button on the Octane Render window. Even when I do this, the rendering scene still updates and the render restarts when I make changes.face_off wrote:I have not tried yet - sorry. Interestingly enough, I've also just noticed that rotating and bending limbs, which don't have objects parented to them, does not cause my rendering scene to update when live updates are disabled. When live updates are enabled, bend and rotating limbs, which don't have objects parented to them, does cause the rendering scene to update.

Can you pls recheck this with the following info....the Preferences -> Automatic geometry updates ("Live" mode) does NOTHING (and I will remove it). Won't that make everything run a LOT slower? People were talking about 1/6th the speed I think. When rendering smaller images with items in the background, it's really nice to be able to size down the textures to fit in the VRAMface_off wrote:May I suggest enabling Out-of-core textures instead15 A button to resize all textures in the texture tab. It would be a real time save for us who render smallish images on smaller cards, instead of having to click each individual texture. A "Default texture size" drop down in Preferences/texture settings would also work

I tested the latest build and all is well! The materials are loading correctly. When I change them and save the scene they open correctly when reopening the scene again. I'm also not experiencing crashes when changing materials. The materials appear correctly in the "Textures" pane. So far there are no longer artefacts appearing on materials in certain frames when rendering the animation. If this situation changes I'll update you but thanks for fixing these four problems so quickly. I can't convey how amazing it is to have someone so responsive and effective at fixing these bugs. Great work!Spectralis wrote:Great! I will test this on the scenes where I had rendering problems this evening. I know exactly which projects and which frames were causing problems so it should be easy to test and report back.face_off wrote:I just posted 2.24.2.2 at viewtopic.php?f=44&t=51410&p=255739#p255739. With this version I am unable to reproduce the following...
01 Unwanted UI interactions between DAZ Studio and the OctaneRender plugin
05 Final Render Button
07 Instant Crash when adding keyframe to White Point Element
22 textures not updating correctly when rendering animation
Are the people who reported these issues able to retest them with 2.24.2.2 pls.
Thanks
Paul
The render set-up camera doesn't appear in the Animation pane but that's something you've made us aware of. I assume that which ever camera is chosen in the viewport will still render?

Couldn't reproduce either of these, with the exception of Focal Length and F/Stop as expected. Looks good, great job. Man, Final really does give quite a speed boost - never touched it beforeface_off wrote:01 Unwanted UI interactions between DAZ Studio and the OctaneRender plugin
