I have further investigated the scattering on meshes with holes, and for the moment there are limitations in the plugin's ability to accurately detect holes, specially with curved edges. I have improved "hole detection" in the next release, but it is still not perfect. So if you are scattering onto a mesh with holes, keep the holes "simple" and do not used arc edges for the hole.

I have updated the installers at the top of this thread. Pls download and install, since the second point below was potentially causing the texture issues that Jeroen has been reporting.

1.17a3
- Fixed issue where copy/pasting an Object that has proxy info attached would not recognise that proxy info until the object had been selected when the plugin Setup window was open
- Fixed issue where loading materials with an unconnected pin (ie. transmission) would result in the rest of the material not loading (and sometimes raising an error message)
- Fixed issue where clicking the new "absorption" node pin "priority" was raising an error. This pin is not used and can now not be connected

Hi Paul,
I am trying to find out more how and when proxies are placed in the holes unwanted.
I attached the image just as information, not as a remark, coz' I know at this point it is an issue to pay attention to.
I noticed another thing: when assigning scattering the proxies seem to be placed strangely, but afte updating geometry they are not... I encountered this a few times, so now I always update the geometry to see what it does.
greetings, Jeroen

Hi Paul,
I have encountered the "material not loading" again.
While having the plugin open I added the slab with a new material form standard AC library (water) and did not update geometry before saving closing the pln.
When re-opening the pln it was openend without the textures loaded.
When opening the material library and closed it, it was OK again.
greetings, Jeroen

Fixed in the next version.

Jeroen, could I trouble you pls to uninstall the plugin and see if this still happens? It could be that ArchiCAD is just not loading your libraries correctly.

Hi Paul,

I uninstalled the plugin, started a new pln and a few added objects with new materials,
closed it , opened it without any problems.
Then I installed the plugin and I could replicate the not-loading-textures immediately.
It happens when the OR Viewport is open and adding a object with a mateial not yet used
and then close Archicad without having updated the geometry.

Thanks Jeroen. Does it happen if the Setup window is open but the Viewport is closed? Does it happen if the Setup window is closed?

I will look into this tomorrow.

Hi Paul,
I investigated the scattering on meshes with holes some more and I found out that when using the
"follow mesh surface normals"it always seems to go right! Even in with circular holes.
Maybe this helps you in fixing this issue?
And for now it always usable except when needing object to be scattered on meshes with variable heights and wanting it not to follow the mesh surface normals.
greets, Jeroen
