& two important points about that: if opening a scene file results in a crash, this is not necessary the end. if a bug is fixed, there is a pretty good chance that this will also allow to reopen a scene that was crashing before. and the 2nd point: i need crash reports - otherwise i'm not able to help or find the reason. whenever it happens, whenever possible - please send me crash reports, log files, descriptions, whatever. we are 13 days into the public beta, and as much as i'd like to have it mature and stable already - it will need a little more time to get there...

Actually I can of course confirm that I think all my scenes I could not reopen work again now with the new dll.
I actually had one crash opening a scene, but interesting enough it worked the next time...
About the crash reports, I know that, but it was late and I really had to go to sleep, and I hoped the update would come out soon - what it did - and maybe my issues would be resolved, what they actually seem to be!
And about orion_uk's issue with animation rendering, this happened to me also last week or so, but I can't remember exactly what I did, I just played around with the animation tab.
Please let me know if you like to have any tests done!
One thing I had happening a few times last night when I did a quick animation test: The plugin seems to mix up maxsamples values.
I set them to 500, clicked on "get current Camera..." in the anim tab and hit Start Animation. It started rendering with the default 2000 samples.

Went back to render settings and opened the viewport. It started to render to 2000 samples. I changed the value to 501 samples which was recognized.
Also then the animation was rendered with 501 samples - until I killed an animation.
When I restarted it wanted to render to 2000 samples again...
But one thing at a time!
First of all, get better, take care for yourself!
When you are better, have a look at the code.
And when the weather gets better, go out and enjoy it!

I just thought I was getting something wrong as I only began to use the cue after advice from t_3 but..I set them to 500, clicked on "get current Camera..." in the anim tab and hit Start Animation. It started rendering with the default 2000 samples.
Confirmed, I just thought I was going ga ga but yes... sometimes, changing the samples is NOT seen when made in the cue or render settings, for me, it seems to default to 5000 samples tho!
I just `re-installed` OcDS UPDATE v1.0.111.2158 and may have a new issue and one fixed (almost) !
Now my frames are rendering with out the `film grain effect` and I have had no crashes since copying the new plugin file to my plugins folder, BUT render animation only render 3 frames then does nothing after the third frame is complete, well, it does not complete the third frame..it `sits` at 477/500 s/pix! A couple of times I have clicked render animation button and it just said WAITING and did nothing!

@both of you (and others): iwill have a look into that anim issues (the old one and the new one) soon. since there were similar issues in the closed beta, i need to find a better way for the ffwd sequence timing.
you may try in the meanwhile to render the animation with to a fixed time per frame instead a number of maxsamples...

Thanks t_3, I just tried that and still not getting past frame 3, frame 4 does not start rendering and the orange scrolling bars just scrolls away to no end. Also, This means that I cant open viewport in mat tab (or any other tab) as that does what UruMike was saying about forced close:(@both of you (and others): iwill have a look into that anim issues (the old one and the new one) soon. since there were similar issues in the closed beta, i need to find a better way for the ffwd sequence timing
Think I will role back one version of the plugin until these issue are resolved, at least I would be able to use the open viewport button while in the mat tab(or any other tab) and work on still scenes

OcDs_Update_v1_0_111_2115 wont even open the Octane render plugin tab via right click add from pane-octanerender OR via menu-render-OctaneRender Main..!!!
OcDs_Update_v1_0_111_2158 ---- hangs (needing forced close) while loading geometry and has the `halt` at beginning of frame 4 no matter if I choose constant time or not
