Can't you just create a rectangular shape area lights linked to your camera? You can do that on 3DS/Maya, then just do it if you really "need" it.

Like Karba said, there are more priorities at the moment.

OctaneRender Standalone any change in the camera and it will not work
I have the integration, but it is slower

here i do flash light fx for interior ..... only put 1 light or emitter top from the camera, I always do this trick when use maxwell. Never get the good flash light when use not unbias software render, this work with octane

I don't understand.
Where's the problem to make simulate a flash? Place a flash bulb over the camera, that's it.
It's not that it's so often used feature that it would require automation of any sort.
And not hard to do either.

There should rather be a simple constraint system (for the cam only).
It would be handy for fog (plane with sss shader)... or for the flash you asked for.
I'd consider this quite unimportant.
