Hi Karba,

some questions:

any plan to update the vraymaterial converter to support vray sss and vraylight mats?
is possible to convert planar and spherical vraylights?

regarding material editor:
any plan to support the texture visualization in the material slots and in the shaded sphere (bump, roughness, reflection, opacity feedback)?
How can I create thin specular pieces of architectural glasses where the sun shines through?
is it possible to bypass the 64 material limit?

support of instances when is planned?

Thank you

Just bought the plugin about half an hour ago and i must admit that its AWESOME!!!!

Fast and reliable (allthough we crashed it several times by opening different scenes with different renderers assigned in them and letting the octane viewport open)

Now we must update all of our workstations in order to handle multiple gpu and buy more octane licenses!!!!!!

Congrats to everybody guys !!!!!

Hi gabrielefx

Instances will be supported with beta 2.6.
For architectural glass you put reflection and transmission set to maximum with your index at 1.53 and lower the opacity to about 0.3 to 0.4 .Also make sure alphashadows is enabled in the render kernel settings. Sunlight will now pass through the glass. If you increase the opacity value of your glass material the sunlight passing through will decrease in amount.

yes...I used this trick before, but using a specular material and lowering the opacity you will get double and curved refractions. Using glossy materials and this trick instead you will lost the refractions. Immagine to watch a building staying outside, with the tweaked glass materials the render will be unrealistic.

You could investigate this in your way perhaps finding a better solution. The only other way would be to wait a little longer for beta 2.6, as their could be solution that might come with the release.

To run OctaneRender® for 3ds max®, you need to also have an activated OctaneRender® Standalone copy activated on the machine you wish to install the plugin onto.
You cannot purchase and use only the 3ds max plugin and use it without also owning an activated copy of OctaneRender® Standalone on your machine
.

If you already own one or more OctaneRender® Standalone Edition licenses you want to pair the plugin with:
Purchase an "OctaneRender® for 3ds max® v1.0 Beta License" priced at 99€

Hi! We're true "fans" of OctaneRender and his fantastic render quality..We purchased Standalone version one year ago. We have one active standalone account.
In Live Account I have one account. We use Standalone in C4D but We would like try 3Dsmax integrated version beta. But when put inside the same User and password used for Standalone activation.. this don't work. Is it mean that We must to buy an other license or this mean ask to Refractive Software an other account? Which is the "pipeline" :) for try in 3Dsmax the integrated render?
Thanks!

For 3DSMax, you need another license.
After you buy one, you will see it in the Customer Area: http://refractivesoftware.com/account/
There should be another entry in OctaneLive Accounts below your standalone license.

after 1000 samples you can't have noiseless images. This scene is an indoor space, needs more samples.
