The Spam is driving me nuts!!

What's quite reliable is to hold the first two or three messages before they're checked by admins... captchas don't work specially when spammers pay real humans to register and spam

SO what has changed? Like I say, I don't come on very often so if there was an announcement I missed it. With a bit less spam I will definitely be on more often.

now new users first post has to be approved, we still get spambots but they are easier to control now since they don't "spread" around!

looks like some spam bots find ways past the cosmetic measure roeland did. and there are still 50 spammers a day registering despite the captcha (clearly visible from the members list). this and letting all the rumors going on uncontrolled is just an exercise in how to slowly destroy a good community...

I haven't been much around in the previous week, but it seems to me there is less spam? (or is the Sheriff office doing a thorough job cleaning )
