Mixing GTX and RTX does not lead to issues right?

We are not aware of any problems with mixing.

Ahmet, any possibility that the latest build is compatible with C4D 15?

Unfortunately 4.02.1-R2 is still not compatible with new Nvidia driver (418.81). Had to revert back to 417.71 to work with the new release.

It's a huge problem. The fact that this never used to happen, on this machine, no hardware change, no software changes, seems to indicate it's not hardware.
Followed all suggestions as to updating drivers, no effects. C4D UI still becomes impossible to use as long as LV is running. Even if LV not calculating... C4D thinks, hangs, thinks, hangs over and over.

I was going to try R2 but it doesn't seem that would help as there's no mention of this in the release notes.

Is this core or plugin issue? Open to more suggestions as what we might try.

Any scene with a decent amount of geo and textures, say 4-gb VRAM.
It's like C4D stops while LV updates. As soon as LV refreshes with new samples, C4D becomes responsive for a split second, before stopping again while LV thinks some more.

What's going on please. This has only happened since 4 on a machine where nothing else has changed for 18 months. Updating 10.12.6 from 10.12.4 and new drivers has not worked. I have work to get out and I can't press a damn button.
LV on prevents any sort of viewport navigation. Can't pan, can't move around, because C4D is only responsive for 0.01 seconds every 3 seconds. Pause the LV (if you can manage to press the pause button in that 0.1second) then magically the viewport becomes super fluid and response, can pan all over, tons of geo, no problems. LV back on... can't click anything, C4D too slow, LV just keeps trying to refresh refresh, it's like LV is sucking up all system resources, but looking at stats, on an 8core C4D is 100% of 1 core and memory is fine.

I'm pretty frustrated now.

Edit: looks like some max users posting the same thing, RC7 OK but 4 onward no good.

Is it core that's the problem? If so why?
I don't think it's a plugin issue, plugins are not using gpu itself. Core is running at background and using gpus.
1-Are you using e-gpu?
2-How is your device settings and others part in settings?
3-Try with parallel samples=1 and max tile samples=1 from kernels. And try to use "sub sampling=2x" if makes any difference.
