I have thus far tested only Maxwell maps and got a pretty decent results..
I still don't know how they're going to implement an Octane preset until an IOR map input is introduced in Octane V3 through OSL. Until then you have to export a metalness map and use it to drive a Mix Material.

I also find that the roughness map needs a little tweaking coming out of any of the other presets.
Correction on my previous comment, I used Arnold preset..

Thanks for the info. I need to dig further into this. Few hours ahead. Awesome.

Some progress with quixel. Have created my own node setup, including a compound node which takes the inputs and converts the gloss map to a roughness map and uses a metalness map to blend between two Gloss materials with different IORs :)

"Coming fall 2015. Available now for pre-order."

Are you effing kidding me?.. Has Teddy & Co learned absolutely nothing? Someone's great aunt or 2nd cousin is going to kick it, and then it will be pushed to Spring 2016, and excuses/apologies all over again... Though, meanwhile, I happily work in SP and am only mildly interested in this munky-bizness...

and my biggest gripe with SP (super slow 4k painting) just got significantly improved with 1.6 :D i just need 8k maps and UDIM support now. (and an Octane preset once we finally get an IOR texture input in V3).

i really hope quixel gets their shit together. it's a nice piece of software when it works, and competition can only be a good thing for users. but man, they have really dropped the ball time and again. at this point i wish they would just stop with the suite and only do megascans.

All I can say, and I'm not sure I'm supposed to say anything, is the experience of working with v2 is superb. I'm sure people will be pleased.

Same here. Works already almost flawlessly. Direct mesh painting is just.... so awesome.
I Haven't crashed this even once and I have been fiddling with this a lot.
I think this is already a mature for official release..

This does make me happy to hear this. I do want Quixel to succeed, and flourish, and compete with Allegorithmic. I really do. I'm very eager to check out QS2.0. It is not likely to replace SP, since I officially moved to that, but as a QS owner, I do want to try and get a ROI -- and for all I know, new ndo will rock my socks off...
