tested now with a bigger scene 2,5 Gig VRam.
No render speed improvement with networkrendering.
Slave shows activity but crashed 2 times.

So sadly its not working with bigger scenes here!

strange - don't know why - but its working now!

Now when rendering , for the first time, I see this activity
in the Slave-Daemon-Bat.

On the Master there is still status "updating" and still I cannot see,
that there is something going on, but rendertime now is half the time
than without network-rendering.

So, god thanks, its working now!

Next I'll try again with a bigger scene and will report.

thanks
Mike
Did you render from the Standalone or from C4D?

Did you render this scene in the Standalone or in C4D?

Could you send me the scene?

In general, even larger scenes should work.

Hi,

schmaler scene rendered fine today from C4D.
But no success with bigger scene (2,5 Gig VRam) - also C4D.

As said, I have an activity on slave-daemon-bat, like with
the smaller scene, but in C4D-Plugin status is most of the time red.
For a moment it turns green. Then after a while slave-daemon crashes.
Restarted Slave - crashed again.

Cannot send the scene, because its an actual job.

Which GPUs are you using on the slave?

Hi Abstrax,

I wrote it somewhere in first posts.

I have a GTX560 (which is disabled for the Slave) and a Titan-Z.
The Titan-Z (therefore 2) GPUs are listed in Standalone (on the Slave) as first and second.
So in install-daemon-bat I set for GPUs " 1,2 " (think you pointed me to that solution)
In result there should be 2 x 6GB Titans GPUs work.

In my Master I have 2 normal Titans

Could you send me the log of the slave when it crashes?

Btw, did you install the Standalone with the slave or just unpack the archive? I'm asking because the installer sets the TdrDelay to 10 seconds, i.e. a kernel call can take up to 10 seconds until Windows kills the NVIDIA driver. Without setting this a kernel gets killed after ~2seconds, which is often not enough on heavy scenes. So if you didn't run the Standalone installer on the slave, please do that and reboot your slave computer (because the registry settings are only applied during system start).

Hi Abstrax,

o.k. installed.
How can I check in regedit if this value is set correctly?

The entries are in HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\GraphicsDrivers. TdrLevel should be set to 3 and TdrDelay should be at least 10 (seconds). You can manually set it to a higher value - don't forget to reboot if you make changes there.

very frustrated I give up now!

After all these testings and small steps to success I " installed" standalone
on Slave like you said, checked the registry keys and the result is "back to the beginning."

Slave connected but like weeks before no activity on the slave daemon.
Yesterday I got status "sending - receiving - sending ......." and small scenes renders
on both mashines but now absolutely nothing.

My Masters status is green "updating" and the slave console stays calm.
"Launching netrenderslave on master ..." and thats all.

How does network rendering work with Teamrender and Octane?
Can you please explain, how to set this up?
This would be my last try.

regards
Mike
