Are you sure that you are working with the custom build? ... it is the 1.33.0 version.

Boris, finally I was able to reproduce the problem about open the IPR window in a scene loaded with HDRLS scene data. Yes, you need to touch something in HDRLS to update the gray environment. Problem could be that Lightwave load first the render plugin and later the HDRLS plugin, and when init the render plugin for the first IPR rendering, it don't know that HDRLS is enabled.

I will try to fix this issue anyway. Thanks for report it.

Ok ... this issue is not going to be easy to fix. The problem as I say before is that Lightwave load first the master plugins, like HDRLS, and later the render plugins, like Octane. When Layout load a scene, it enable HDRLS before load the Octane plugin. HDRLS send to Layout the message about the current live image just after open the HDRLS interface, but Octane is not there yet to receive the message, so this first live image is lost.

I am going to think about it, but I am not sure if I am going to be able to fix this issue. Currently you are going to need to change something in HDRLS to force the render of a new live image to begin to work in a scene with HDRLS data.

Sometimes this kind of bridges between plugins inside Lightwave could have this kind of issues :( ... it is not a big problem anyway.

Got a slight niggle with HDRS - when I use light paint, the 'reflect' mode acts like the 'rim' mode (the light appears behind the object.

Can you duplicate that?

I am testing HDRLS with the last build and all works fine here. Do you have this problem in all your scenes?

It works for me in some, but not others.

Like the Bulldozer one I sent before, and this one.

True, I have found the problem. Currently to work with HDRLS and Octane you need to have at least one viewport in Layout set to "Shaded Solid" or "Textured Shaded Solid". If you have all your viewports in "Wireframe" mode, Layout doesn't have the objects normals computed and the picking algorithm fails.

So the workaround is easy, in your scene switch the display mode of the viewport to "Shaded Solid" for example and done.

I am going to try to fix this problem, if possible. Thanks for report it.

Hello,

just doing some tests with HDR light studio and found that
the hdri background appears in low definition when
using hdrls.
Don't know if it's an option i missed in the HDR light panel?

below the two renders (ipr and hdrls)
IPR_image .jpg
IPR_image HDRLS.jpg
And by the way thanks Juan for the shaded view trick for the lightpaint problem,
i had the same issue and it works perfectly now
And thanks for all the work done on Octane, so glad to have such a wonderfull
renderer on lightwave!

The live image used for Light Paint in the IPR window is always a low resolution file to make all things run faster. Only when you render the final HDRI to file (or render to live) HDRLS saves a full resolution file.
