Problem with the models solved...
cube2 in root, clone_frome_cube2 in model and cube in model1 under model.
cube2 and the clone share there material, image below.

Update soon, some little other things to do ;)

I tried a new scene with that version and got an Automation Error- 'MeshNode for rendering [obj name] not useable.' The obj file loads fine into Octane if simply exported out of XSI. To make sure it wasn't the scene, I replaced the objects with a cube. I get the same error with exporter settings at their defaults.

Okay, back with another quirk. I exported out a quick scene with three applied materials. (the scene material is listed as not applied in XSI) When I launched Octane I had four materials- one was duplicated with a 1 on the end, and one of my objects had it applied in Octane, when it didn't in XSI. That object was the original from which the other objects had been duplicated.

So... a duplicated object issue perhaps?

From a clean new project?
Existing projects have the old materials on it and when you create a new xsi scene on that, with new materials, Octane can´t handle it.
Octane load the old osc-file with the old materials in it.
So you have then the old materials + the new ones.

Another thing is, that every object will have its own material.
That´s why you can have material + material1
Shared materials are only on cloned meshes active, i´ve found.

Materials in Octane are mystery. Some works, some not.
Allway its better to begin with a new project.

I will send you a pm ;)

I seem to have two pms from you, but both say the message was removed by the author. Ah well. I'm off to bed now, so... just so you know, in case they seemed to send correctly on your end :) For now, the scene was brand new, and only the objects were duplicated (materials added after duplication).
