It will be a Monte Carlo method offcourse? Perhaps a hybrid of both MLT and BPT perhaps ? :)
It will be called RLT - Radiance Light Transport :) :D

i don't know what to name it.
i need to finish it firtst and test that it's unbiased by comparing to references.

it works really nice though ;)
the display updates always at 60 FPS.

60 fps :shock: Serously!? How is that possible? Lable it realtime :D

RTL (Radiance Light Transport) seems to be a good option for the name ;)

yea, but understand that it does'nt do whole passes,
it only traces random pixels and does'nt cover the whole image,
so it's useless for navigating and editing the scene.

it's only good for rendering your final, while being able to use your PC normally without a non-responsive GUI on single GPU systems.

yea, but understand that it does'nt do whole passes,
it only traces random pixels and does'nt cover the whole image,
so it's useless for navigating and editing the scene.

Since I only got 1 GPU currently, its gonna be really great to be able to workm on other things while rendering

héhé, As an FPrime (MLT based renderer) user, I have already prepared a scene to compare when beta 2 will be out.

Fprime is not unbiased ;)
Its using some kind of progressive rendering on the CPU
Exactly like VrayRT

But its good to compare the two
Even if its not really accurate

Can we expect it for beta 2.1? what about speed? If it's useless for navigating the scene, it will be as effective as pathtracing?

I know FPrime was there way before other competitors
I use FPrime with lightwave 9.4 ;)

An interior scene is good
As long as there's no light portals used or other cheats :mrgreen:
