Hi Paul,
I have one issue here that pops up when the material of grouped objects are changed via the properties window.
Any changes of materials is undone if you try to make changes via the object-material-properties.
It works if you do changes on the material via the Material Editor, but no luck via the properties.
If the objects are not grouped it will work.
You can reproduce this by the following steps.
Create two cubes and assign a fresh Octane Material (both sharing the same material)
Then group them and access the material via the object properties.
Recheck the changes and you will see the changes are unrolled.
Ungroup the cubes and try again via the same way.
It will work then.
Can this be fixed?
The material editor is great but often the direct way into the material properties via the object properties is better.
Thank you
Nando

I have had a detailed look into this issue, and believe that it is a Rhino issue. I have reported a similar issue to McNeel, who indicated that Rhino6 would re-vamp how this sort of functionality works, so for Rhino5 I think you need to edit materials using the Materials panel for grouped items, and hopefully Rhino6 will handle this situation correctly.I have one issue here that pops up when the material of grouped objects are changed via the properties window.

As an indication of the problem, if you assign a Rhino material to a mesh item, and select that mesh item, you CANNOT click the Edit button in the Properties->Material panel. But if you assign an Octane material to that mesh item, you CAN click the Edit button - so this looks to be a Rhino bug (you should not be able to click the Edit button).
