there is a command in options menu of Live Viewer.
Enable particle engine: this generates some particles without using any geometry. Pls disable this.

yes, motion blur and dynamics seem to also work nice now with the mac version. The only thing that is still not working correctly for me is, that the cinema GUI becomes sluggish and doesn't update correctly once the octane render viewer is opened. Any ice what could cause this behavior/

Thanks, amazing plugin, especially the mblur and dynamic updates.
thanks for compliment. A general info about usage of motion blur on Live viewer:
It can be very cpu expensive, this is changing with content of your scene. Also it's little tricky and need some attention to see correct results. I have mentioned several times on previous threads. Also in manual. I'll try to extend info little more.
Picture viewer is much reliable to see exact results.
Can you confirm that's same issue, that's told by you?

Hey Aoktar,

thanks for the quick reply. No, this has nothing to do with motion blur, but on mac, since version 2 we are encountering weird freezes of the cinema GUI when we open the octane render view. It only appears when we open the 4 split windows, not if we open just the one camera view. The windows don't refresh anymore and everything you do in the cinema view windows, doesn't get feedback or updates. I will record a video when i am back at my machine and email it to you , so you see what i am talking about. But besides this the mac version runs very good. All the dynamics and Mblur work flawless, also the displacement is great.

Great update.

Thanks again.

it should be related with high gpu usages. How many gpu which are installed on mac? Please keep priority option is enabled for viewport. And set to LOW.

Yes, thats what we do. We are having a titan SC for rendering and a gtx 580 for viewport. And have the settings to low and priority turned on for 580. Was always fine before. Maybe we should update to 10.9.4 it seems osx 10.9.3 has broken a lot of open gl stuff.

Everything was working fine before though.

I will try different OS and send you a film of the behavior.

Thanks again

I can't confirm MacOS viewport issue stated above. Works fine on my system.

10.9.3. 2 Titans. Cuda 6.0.37

I did notice that there is a CUDA update that i have not done yet.

What's your cuda/nvidia versions? Is it being on complex scenes?

Hey Aoktar,

ok, back at machine now and am running old Cuda 6.0.37

Just updating it now and will report back if that fixed the issue.

Scenes are light scenes like the demo ones and some simple tests we did, all low geometry and textures.

Ok, so it is working now, but the cuda upgrade made no difference, but turning open GL previews off in the cinema 4d Preferences made everything behave normal again. SVIT, can you confirm that you are using Open GL previews with cinema in the viewport? We can't get this to work when the octane Render window is opened.

But without the open GL preferences enabled for cinema viewport everything works as expected. Also, just FYI we noticed that Octane render view only updates any dynamics simulation if you apply the octane object tag to the simulation object, otherwise it only displays still frames when you hit the refresh button.

But this might be of course intended. Everything else is working great. MBlur is awesome :-)

Thanks again.

I certainly noticed the difference going from one GPU in the Mac to an external enclosure. I tend to turn the internal card off in Octane prefs, so it can concentrate on screen redraw, and the system remains much more manageable. With just the one card I did notice at times the UI was very sluggish - which is understandable as it's probably putting all it's resources into CUDA. It's better with a low render priority.

AOktar - thanks for the info on the motion blur scene. Previewing motion blur at this peed is just crazy! Love it.
