Hey guys, I know the first post is 24 pages away, but this is a thread about the PMC kernel and not about wishes, requests and ideas. I really would like you to stay on-topic. We all know that there are a lot of things that can/should be added and we will do our best to make Octane more complete, but please discuss that somewhere else. Also be aware that there is only so much we can do at a time and talking about feature X or Y a lot doesn't develop it faster. (Although I wish it would be like that
)
I hope that makes sense. Cheers,
Marcus

Maybe i should try an other wdm as gnome 2/3...

It's possible that the coming test release might solve the problem. -> I wouldn't spend too much time on it until it is released. As I don't know what is causing your problem it is very well possible, that the problem is there, too.
Cheers,
Marcus
I have test it on icewm, blackbox, fluxbox, gnome2, gnome3 and kde, with my gtx285 and gt210.
Since beta 2.44 I can´t exit.
Ok, i will wait for the next release and stop the current development of the linux Soft2Octane plugin...

are you saying that in beta 2.43 Octane closes correctly, but in beta 2.44 (or later releases) it doesn't? Which build do you use CUDA 3.0 or CUDA 3.2? Are you using it in multi-GPU mode?
Cheers,
Marcus

I meant glossiness of translucency (of the light that gets through). That should solve problem with curtains mentioned before enabling more than 50% of light to pass through.MaTtY631990 wrote:You can add glossiness in octane

we will start work on the final major feature being the new IO file format and instancing support.

2.43 with CUDA 3.0 & CUDA 3.2 in singel-GPU mode doesn´t exit.
If you need it, you can have a look via remoute desktop or how it names...

Hi there,
I was testing to recreate some TV studios with new PMC kernel.
I'm having issues getting rit of fireflies with my PMC kernel:
Too bad my HD with source file crashed a few minutes ago, was only able to save 1 test export png.
With daylight i have hardly any fireflies (although not what i need in interior scene) , but with the emitters like this one can't get rid of it, what i'm i doing wrong?

There are no "fireflies" in that image, maybe 2 bright pixels. If you mean the cyan areas: Those occur in areas that are too bright. The next test release will work around this problem like in path tracing and direct lighting. Until then try to decrease the brightness of the emitters and increase the exposure in the imager/tonemap node.TheOracle wrote:Hi there,
