I thought the OSL component was missing in 10.5.4 but present in 10.5.5, but I may be mistaken.

I hope someone can clarify, but I get the impression 10.15.5 didn't have everything that was needed, which is why we're blaming Apple. Whatever. Either way, the wait is killing us all.

In the redshift forum they have posted that they are having some problems to finish their metal version.

Hope Otoy do no have this problem and we can see it sooner.

Can´t wait to try this in my mac pro soon.

You will need at least 10.15.6 for out of core. More info as soon as we wrap closed beta.

Yeah, figured it was an(other) OS update holding it back. Man, the split second this goes public beta I am all over it. [EDIT: second 10.15.6 beta is out... so close!]

BTW, are the DCC plugins ready to go? Cinema4D, specifically.

Yes - all macOS CUDA plug-ins now have Octane X DCC plug-ins ready, and are being tested right now by the closed beta group: C4D, Maya, Houdini, Lightwave, Blender, Sketchup, Poser, Modo and Nuke.

Octane X for Solaris (hydra) and Unreal are also working on Metal (see below) but will likely ship after the rest (same with Unity), as these plug-ins haven't actually haven't been released yet on macOS, and would go straight to Metal, skipping macOS CUDA entirely.

I wonder if maybe we'll hear or see something at WWDC...
